ABOUT the IAOCO

The World's most élite organization in Sports Chiropractic, the IAOCO is a voluntary, unincorporated, non-profit agency which honors those DC's whose contributions to the International Sports arena have brought them to the pinnacle of their careers. The distinction of having served a National Olympic Team is the greatest one that can be acheived by a Doctor of any specialty. The athletes competing at the Olympic level are the greatest in the World, and it is the highest honor to be able to assist them in their quest for "Citius, Altius, Fortius".

The Olympic DC never takes credit for the acheivments of his/her patients, but is content to have played whatever small part in the drama which unfolds at the Olympic venues.

All DC's who have served legally, in an official capacity at the invitation of any IF, NOC, OCOG, NGB or other National
body in sport, having authority to invite staff to such events is eligible for some level of membership. The IAOCO does not recognize those who treat individual athletes on a private basis, no matter who famous or well publicized their efforts may be.

Those who have been Olympic Team Doctors, meaning that they were formally invited by an National Olympic Committee (NOC), are the recipients of the highest honor, that of "Gold Member of the IAOCO". All others are "Silver Members". On a rare occasion, a Silver member has been elevated to Gold status due to a consensus of the Board voting that their other contributions to Olympic Chiropractic have earned them this distinction.
